About
Human Rights Lawyer,Mediator,& Broadcaster.
Atty. Ver Quimco is a Filipino trial lawyer and broadcaster, an advocate for human rights and good governance, and thirty-five years into the active practice of law. He holds an AB in Political Science from La Salle University and a Bachelor of Laws / Juris Doctor from Misamis University, both in Ozamiz City. Today he practises privately as Senior Partner of Bayron, Sarsaba and Quimco Legal Services in Iligan City.
He is also a peace advocate and an accredited mediator, active in settling disputes within communities. One advocacy runs through all of it: equipping Barangay officials and mediators with the skills and awareness of the law they need to settle the cases that reach the Lupong Tagapamayapa.
Much of his career has been spent in government. He was appointed Provincial Attorney of Lanao del Norte in 1989, then Head and District Public Attorney of the Public Attorney's Office in Iligan City. As a government corporate lawyer he served as OIC Head of Mindanao Legal Services for the National Transmission Corporation in 2009 before joining the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines as General Counsel for Mindanao. In 2021 he was appointed Regional Labor Arbiter of the National Labor Relations Commission, serving in Caraga and the Zamboanga Peninsula until his recent retirement.
For forty years he has been on the air. Accredited by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas, he has anchored programs and segments in cities and provinces across Mindanao, and has since carried the same advocacies onto social media under a single mantra:Legal Information is Power.
Away from the practice he runs — thirty finisher medals across marathons and ultramarathons, and still racing at sixty-five. He has also recorded two albums of cover songs, Harana sa Hustisya and Take Two for Justice, produced by the Center for Alternative Forum and Justice (CALL for Justice Inc.) to raise bail money for people unjustly imprisoned.
